Whew! What a whirlwind weekend. The past 48 hours have been some of the happiest times in the life of our little family, and so this could be a long drawn out blog.

On Thursday evening, I began having contractions, off and on. Nothing became regular so, despite a rough night, life continued as usual on Friday. Toward friday afternoon, I began having a few regular and painful contractions, and so Jeremy decided to come home from work early. He, Josiah and I hung out with my family and helped Ange and Aaron finish up some stuff for their wedding. During this times the contractions became more regular.

We decided to make the trip to the hospital around 6:30 pm. When we got there the contractions died down considerably but Dr. McCoy and Lisa Walker (the best RN in the LAND) decided to admit us. After a few hours of being with the family in the labor room, it was time for delivery! Silas Lee Miller entered the world at 3:12 am on Saturday, December 13th. He weighed 9 POUNDS 6 OUNCES and was 21.25 INCHES LONG! He was quite a big baby, especially for being 10 days early. The birth experience could not have been better. I really did not push long and he was so sweet right from the beginning. Andrea and Mom (along with proud Daddy Jeremy) stayed in the delivery room with me. Jeremy is the most amazing husband day in and day out, but nothing compares to the support he is during delivery. He is just a champ and the most amazing father in the world as well. Our boys are so blessed to have him in their lives!

Silas had a few minor breathing problems at first, but they cleared up quickly and he spent the day and night in the room with us. He was a little grunter at first, but has quieted down to just being a cooer. He seldom cries. He is nursing like a champ, and sleeping well, albeit noisily. He is a sweet sweet soul and I think he is so aware of the love that is surrounding him. So many people we love visited us in the hospital and just loved on him

Josiah is doing great. He spent the weekend with Gran and Grandpa (they gave him chocolate - pictures in slideshow), and was quite spoiled by them! He came to the hospital twice to see us, and the first time he did not have much to do with Silas. He much preferred the phone and all the closets in our hospital room. At one point (the picture should be in the slideshow) he climbed in the little bassinet that Silas had been in and wanted us to oohh and ahh over him. He then went back and forth from wanting to hold and kiss Silas, to clinging to Jeremy and me, to wanting nothing to do with any of us. Tonight at home he really did great with Silas, and I'm sure the next several days will be up and down for him as this is such a huge adjustment. He is such a sweet little boy, and we know that adding a brother to the mix will bring such a special bond of love into his little life. We cannot wait to watch it all unfold.

We are home now and are exhausted but so content. God has blessed us so immensely with the opportunity to raise these two boys and we are overwhelmed with the responsibility and excitement that come with that honor. Please pray for us that we will bring them up to be mighty men of God! We love you all and are so thankful this holiday season for you and our two little bundles of joy and sunshine.
